Christmas at the Strand

Thank you everyone who came out to watch Christmas movies at the Strand in December! We are so happy we had the chance to reopen our doors for some holiday fun! We heard many great comments, most of them along the lines of “it’s so great to be back in here!”

On Saturday December 7 and Sunday December 8, we showed a NEW, locally-made film called “Saint Nick of Bethlehem”, starring Bethlehem-native Daniel Roebuck. It was a great, heartwarming film with a very important message to be kind to others and to do good in the world. We are honored to be among the theaters that screened this wonderful film. We had a great crowd both nights!

On Saturday December 14, we played the classic rom-com “The Holiday”, starring Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, and Jack Black. Then on Saturday December 21, we screened the animated film “Arthur Christmas”. The crowds were smaller than “Saint Nick”, of course, but the enthusiasm was there! Overall, it was a very magical December at the Strand!

Thank you to our wonderful helpers: Barbara, Kellen, Brandon, Alicia, Beau, Susan, Jonathan, Jeremy, Jessica, Elijah, and Liam! We couldn’t have made December such a success without you!

We are looking forward to continuing our journey to a full reopen, when we will have bigger movie titles (and yes, screening first-run movies is our goal!), the renovation will be complete, and we will have a full concession stand! But for now, we will continue to be open occasionally for special movie events! We hope you will continue to support the Strand by attending these events and regularly checking our website and social media!
